For 30 days, starting October 12, I am participating in an immersion project for my Rhetorics of Self-Care class. Social media has always been a huge distraction for me. I definitely spend way too much time scrolling down my timeline. My goal for this project is to limit my usage to one hour per day so that I can focus on doing more physical activity (going to the gym, yoga, etc.) and work on completing my graduate portfolio. I hope to engage in more mindful practices and increase my productivity during the day. Here's an update on how my first week went:

Last weekend, I was sick so it was hard for me to start my immersion project. I was feeling a little better on Monday, so I was able to work on my portfolio. Tuesday through Friday I was able to hit my gym and portfolio goals everyday. It made me feel accomplished. However, there were a couple of nights I was up late during the week; and I had also spent all day at the library on Saturday. Exhaustion got the best of me, and I was unfortunately not able to make it to the gym over the weekend.

I was not able to hit my social media goal this week, but I'm still feeling good because my usage is significantly less. My iPhone alerted me today that my overall phone usage was down 35% from last week.

This week (week 2), I want to hit my social media goal at least two days (if not everyday) this week and make it to the gym on the weekend.
